In order to create your portrait, I will use a photo of your pet as my inspiration.
Good photos = detailed watercolor painting of your dog
In fact, the better the photo, the better the finished portrait. For best results, follow these photo tips.
Is the portrait already framed?
You can order unframed or framed (ready to hang) portrait. If portraits are sent unframed, in order to hang yours on the wall, you will have to place it in a painting frame.
How will I ship your portrait?
Your portrait will arrive in a sturdy cardboard box (if you order framed portrait) or carefully rolled up in a sturdy cardboard tube. I use high-quality tubes that protect the portraits during transportation so that when you unbox your painting, it unfolds without curling.

Creating a likeness of the subject is one of the most important elements of a successful painting. That's why I always ask my clients to provide me with a selection of photographs to work from. With a variety of images to choose from, I can get a sense of the pet’s features and how they come together to create a unique portrait.
Atina has always had a passion for both art and animals.
As a child, she would beg her parents to let her bring home every stray cat or dog she came across.
While most of the time they said no, her weekends were always spent helping feed and care for any stray animals in her neighborhood. And if any of them needed medical attention, her grandpa - who was a veterinarian - would always be there to help.
She would often spend hours waiting in his office, eager to see how the animals were doing. It was during these times that she started painting portraits of the animals. At first she would only sketch them in pencil, but as she got older, she started experimenting with watercolors and other techniques.
Over the years, Atina has painted portraits of countless pets - from loyal dogs and cheeky cats to playful parrots and gracious horses. Each one animal she paints is special to her, and she takes great joy in telling their story through her art.
Today, Atina enjoys helping pet owners capture the unique personalities of their furry friends, or to memorialize those of them who are no longer among us.
